What is a WALL WETTER?

What is a WALL WETTER?

A WALL WETTER is a simple but effective system to be utilized a heat transfer area in a tank.
In case of a batch evaporation there used to be a problem of decreasing of vaporization speed proportional to lowering the liquid level in a tank. Our answer is the WALL WETTER.

The WALL WETTER is simply welling up liquid to the top of the heat transfer area on the wall or coils in the tank. Then the heat transfer area could be fully utilized as long as the system would be working. In case of a batch evaporation the process time could be reduced by half.

An innovation for reactors and evaporators

An innovation for reactors and evaporators

A small amount of liquid could be handled in a large tank with enough heat transfer area.
Shortens heating or cooling time or process time.
It is possible to use conventional mixers and WALL WETTER together.

STRUCTURE

STRUCTURE

To be simple but very effective.

Lifting up the liquid in the tank and spreading the liquid on a heating surface of the tank.

Full utilization of the heat transfer area.

Shortened the process time.

APPLICATION

Wall Wetter for laboratory use

Wall Wetter for laboratory use

It is possible to insert into a flask or remove through a universal nozzle shaped like an umbrella. The function itself is almost the same as a rotary evaporator. However, it is much safer than a rotary evaporator as the Wall Wetter rotates in a flask.

Example of a large evaporator

Example of a large evaporator

The capacity of the largest Wall Wetter system is 40 cubic meter. To allow full use of the heating surface in a tank at any time during evaporation Even 200L liquid in the tank could be spread onto the heating surface. It is possible to shorten the evaporation time drastically.

Example for a batch distillation

Example for a batch distillation

A constant amount of vapor from the tank gives the most efficient condition of column operation. Enough reflux results better products. A Wall Wetter gives an optimal operation throughout the process time.

Glass lined Wall Wetter

Glass lined Wall Wetter

Recently a gutter type Wall Wetter has been developed. This type is easy to be glass lined or PTFE coated. It is very easy to be clean the Wall Wetter and it is useful for food, pharmaceutical or fine chemical industries.

Revolutions by the WALL WETTER!

Revolutions by the WALL WETTER!

Revolution in an evaporation
  • Effective utilization of heat transfer area
  • Even small amount of liquid is processed
  • Always thin film status
  • Constant evaporation rate through the process
  • Shorten a process time
  • It is possible to reduce the heating temperature.
  • Easy scale-up
Revolution in a distillation
  • To the end of the batch distillation a column will be in a optimal operation. It is possible to be operated at the most efficient condition and by this operation to save energy.
  • The constant vapor speed gives the column a steady operation.
  • To be shorten the process time.
  • The maximum heat transfer area is utilized throughout the process time.
  • Enough reflux contributes quality of products.
Revolution in a reaction
  • Small amount of liquid could be handled in a large reactor.
  • Even small amount of liquid can be heated or cooled at your disposal.
  • It is possible to use your impeller with the WALL WETTER.
Revolution in a flask
  • It rotates in a flask safely.
  • Safer than a rotary evaporator.
  • Cheaper in a larger flask.
  • Easy scale-up.
Revolution in a process
  • Heating surface area should be constant despite of liquid quantity.
  • It is possible to utilize one Wall Wetter tank for reaction, evaporation, distillation and so on.
  • Number of vessel could be reduced because it is unnecessary to use small vessel.
  • It is possible to save place, piping or others.
  • Easy scale-up
Revolution in a crystallization
  • To be a larger average crystal size
  • Less fine crystal makes filtration much easier.
  • After evaporation it is possible to move a crystallization process effectively.
  • To be shorten process time compare to conventional system.
  • To be narrower the distribution of particle size.
  • Easy cleaning up in a tank.
  • Less contamination.

CLEANING

Cleaning a TANK

Using WALL WETTER heat transfer area can be always kept wet.
Less burning and less residue on the wall surface.
The wall surface can be rinsed using a small amount of liquid. The first thick liquid can be recovered.
A gutter type WALL WETTER is easy to be washed.

Reduces repetition of rinsing and soaking.

Shortens rinsing time.
Decreases the amount of rinsing liquid
